Dozens of Palestinian Refugees Drowned on Migration Route

Thousands of Palestinian refugees, including women and children, continue to risk their lives onboard migrant vessels trying to get to safety to European destinations.

Scores of Palestinian refugees, including 56 Palestinians from Syria, drowned onboard the death boats to Europe, fleeing conflict zones and economic hardships.

The Action Group for Palestinians of Syria (AGPS) said 56 Palestinian refugees from Syria, mostly women and children, drowned after they boarded migrant boats wishing to safely disembark in Europe.

A number of casualties breathed their last off the Libyan seashores on way to Italy while others sunk in Marmara waters as they tried to reach the Greek coast. Dozens of migrants have gone missing.

Over recent years, several Palestinian refugees have been denied asylum in European countries and received immediate deportation orders.
