A Palestinian youth was killed by Israeli army gunfire on Thursday morning while seven others were injured during clashes in the occupied northern West Bank city of Jenin, local sources said.

WAFA Agency said that soldiers broke into Jenin to demolish the family home of a Palestinian detainee when intense clashes broke out between the soldiers and Palestinians.

During the clashes, Israeli soldiers opened fire at protesters killing Yazan Abu Tabikh, 19, and injuring seven others, one of whom sustained serious injuries.

A general strike was called for in Jenin to protest the killing of Abu Tabikh and the demolition of the house.
