Palestinian refugee children in Syria
The government of Japan announced on Wednesday the provision of new financial aid to the Palestinian people in the amount of $32,764,655 to be granted through international organizations.
The new package includes assistance to Palestinian refugees through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and support for the urgent protection programs of marginalized communities through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Women (UNWOMEN), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNMAS), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
The assistance also includes the provision of medical supplies through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and support to achieve economic progress through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Office of the International Quartet.
