A Palestinian ex-prisoner was pronounced dead at a Gaza hospital following a struggle with cancer, medical sources have reported.

Ex-prisoner Sulaiman Akram Mahmoud AlSardi breathed his last at AlRantisi Hospital. He had been diagnosed with brain and chest cancers.

Sulaiman was deported by the Israeli occupation forces from Askar refugee camp, in the northern occupied West Bank province of Nablus, to the besieged Gaza Strip.

He was arrested in 2001 and deported to Gaza just one year later. He is survived by his wife and five children.
