A retired Palestinian doctor was pronounced dead in Spain this week as a result of coronavirus contamination.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said COVID-19 claimed the life of Kasem Issa, who lives in Galicia city.

Issa is the second doctor who fell victim to the pandemic in Spain.

Last week, the Ministry said coronavirus claimed the life of Palestinian doctor Hisham Yousef Hamd, from Gaza, while he was doing his duty in Spain, fighting the virus at one of the country’s hospitals.

The total number of registered infections in Spain rose to 141,942. The death toll has hit 14,045. Another 43,208 people who contracted the disease recovered.
