44 Palestinians Succumb to Coronavirus Abroad, 1,022 Infected

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Palestinians in the diaspora has risen to 1,022 and the number of deaths stands at 44, the Palestinian Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry said Wednesday evening.

The ministry said in a statement that there were 1,022 confirmed novel coronavirus cases among Palestinians in the diaspora, including 621 cases in the US.

11 Palestinians in the US tested positive for the novel coronavirus, raising the total confirmed cases among Palestinian  expatriates in that country to 621.

In Norway, the ministry noted, there were no new cases among Palestinians in, leaving the total confirmed cases at 11, including eight cases who have recovered. The condition of the remaining three cases is good and stable.

In Saudi Arabia, the ministry confirmed that a Palestinian died as a result of the deadly virus. He was identified as Ayman Ashour Mashharawi, 44.

In Belgium, another Palestinian tested positive for the fatal virus, raising the total confirmed cases among Palestinians in this country to 80.

41 Palestinians contracted the virus in Qatar. Seven other cases were reported in Spain.
