The first case of coronavirus infection was reported in a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, according to local sources.

A woman living in al-Jaleel (the Galilee) Palestinian refugee camp, near the city of Baalbak, tested positive for COVID-19, making her case the first of its kind in Lebanon’s Palestinian refugee camps.

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates also said a 76-year-old Palestinian refugee died in Sweden, the first reported death among the Palestinian community in that European country.

At the same time, a member of the Palestinian community in Saudi Arabia has succumbed to the deadly disease.
