Covid-19 Claims Lives of 2 Palestinians in United Arab Emirates

Two more Palestinian refugees living outside of their motherland have succumbed to coronavirus, this time in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), reported the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

The Ministry said in a statement that Palestinian expatriate Jalal Mohammad Abu Shadik, 52, was pronounced dead as a result of a coronavirus infection in the UAE.

Another 52-year-old woman whose name was not identified succumbed to the pandemic in the Gulf country.

One day earlier, Palestinian refugee Ahmad Mahmoud Darwish, aged 46, also died on Tuesday of coronavirus in the city of Al-Ain, in the UAE.

So far, 76 Palestinian refugees have died of COVID-19 abroad and 1,381 others have been infected with the virus.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s database, 608 recovery cases have been recorded among Palestinians in the diaspora.
