The Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem demolished on Wednesday morning a Palestinian house in Jabal al-Mukabber neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem under the pretext of construction without permit, according to witnesses.

WAFA News agency quoted eye-witnesses as stating that the one-story house belonged to a local resident.

According to the United Nations, Israel demolished 62 Palestinian structures in East Jerusalem in the first six months of this year, in addition to others demolished by the owners to avoid paying exorbitant amounts in fines for the demolition if carried out by the municipality.
