5 Palestinians Contract Coronavirus in India

Five Palestinians have contracted the coronavirus variant in India, reported the Palestinian Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ministry on Wednesday.

The political advisor to the Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister, Ambassador Ahmed Al-Deek said in a press statement that three Palestinian students enrolled in Andhra University tested positive for the Indian variant of Covid-19, bringing the total students infected with the virus to six.

At the same time, two diplomatic staff at the Palestine Embassy in India tested positive for the variant, bringing the total embassy staff infected with virus to six.

According to the latest coronavirus statistics, the number of Palestinians who contracted the virus in the Diaspora has reached 13,331. The death toll has hit 403.
