Another 12 residents of AlNeirab Camp for Palestinian refugees, in the northern Syrian province of Aleppo, have recently contracted the Delta Plus variant, according to local sources.

Medics warned that that the number of infections is likely to go up in light of the absence of anti-coronavirus measures and vaccines in the camp. The residents’ lack of commitment to safety protocols has made the situation far more alarming.

Over recent weeks, nearly 150 coronavirus cases have been recorded in the camp. The death toll has hit 60.
