A number of Palestinian migrants have been released from detention centres in Turkey after they were detained for entering or staying in the country illegally, reported the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

In a Monday statement, the Ministry said that a batch of 55 Palestinian refugees held in custody were freed over the past couple of days following efforts made by the Palestine embassy in Turkey.

The refugees will be either returned back home or have their visas renewed in case they overstayed theirs.

Last week, a mother and her five children, in addition to 20 children were released from a detention centre in Turkey.
