Israeli troops rounded up on Thursday a number of Palestinian young men in an arrest sweep targeting refugee camps across the occupied West Bank

Local sources said Israeli soldiers arrested a Palestinian man after the ransacked his house in al-Am‘ari refugee camp, south of al-Bireh city, in the central occupied West Bank.

Israeli forces also barged their way into Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, and detained another young man after ravaging his family house.

At the same time, Israeli soldiers assaulted a resident of Dheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem city. The casualty was rushed to a hospital in the city for urgent treatment.

The soldiers forcibly entered a number of Palestinian houses in the camp, sparking panic among women and children.

Israeli forces raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the occupied territories under the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

Under Israeli military law, army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
