Israeli military forces on Monday violently quelled a protest against Israel’s takeover of Palestinian lands in Bani Naim town, east of AlKhalil city, in the southern occupied West Bank.

Local sources said Israeli occupation forces attacked protesters and activists with stun grenades and tear gas canisters who gathered in Bani Naim to protest Israel’s plan to grab a land covering over 40 dunums and belonging to the Palestinian Manasra family.

Israeli soldiers also prevented journalists from filming the attack, claiming the area is a closed military zone.

Sometime earlier, Israeli settlers from Bni Hefer illegal settlement fenced off Palestinian lands in the area and set up a caravan as a prelude to take them over in favour of illegal settlement expansion.
