Israeli police on Tuesday evening assaulted and detained a number of Palestinians at Shufat military checkpoint, near the Shufat refugee camp.
Local sources said that a number of heavily-armed police brutally beat a Palestinian young man and detained him at the checkpoint.
Police also detained another from the refugee camp of Shufat, which remains under forced lockdown for the fourth consecutive day.
At the same time, the gun-toting police rounded up a young woman at Salaheddin Street in occupied Jerusalem.
For the fourth consecutive day, Israeli forces kept under forced lockdown the Shufat refugee camp and the nearby town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem, where at least 100,000 Palestinians live.
The occupation forces continue to raid homes in the two communities, clash with residents, detain people and open skunk water hoses at Palestinian civilian homes in the camp as hundreds of troops continue to search for the suspect who allegedly carried out an anti-occupation attack on Saturday night.
The Israeli army has prevented all residents, including students, from leaving the camp, which is separated from East Jerusalem by an eight-meter-high concrete wall and a military checkpoint, despite the fact that it is located within the Jerusalem municipal boundaries.
