Israeli occupation forces raided on Tuesday morning Faraa refugee camp, south of the Jordan Valley city of Tubas, where they fatally shot a Palestinian youth in the head.

A source at the Red Crescent Society said that Mahmoud Majed Al Aydi was transported to hospital in critical condition after he was shot in the head. He was later pronounced dead.

A local source also said the soldiers raided the house of a 45-year-old Palestinian and arrested him, while an army dog attacked his son and bit him in the leg.

Faraa camp is located in a rural area 17 kilometres northeast of Nablus. The camp is geographically isolated, which is in many ways detrimental to the residents’ livelihoods.

With the killing of Al Aydi, the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army and Jewish settlers since the beginning of the year raises to 48, including 11 children and an elderly woman.
