A large Israeli army force raided on Wednesday Aqbat Jabr refugee camp in the West Bank city of Jericho, leaving at least three Palestinians wounded.

Israeli soldiers cordoned off a Palestinian building in the camp under the pretext that anti-occupation activists were in the building.

Israeli military showered the area with gunfire, injuring three Palestinians.

Medics said a young man was shot by live ammunition in the abdomen and was critically wounded. Medics tried to resuscitate him and provide him with treatment, but the Israeli occupation soldiers arrested him.

The Israeli forces also arrested a number of Palestinians in the besieged building as they sealed off the camp and prevented ambulances and journalists from entering it while using a man and his child as a human shield.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society said the army detained six people during its assault on Aqbat Jabr refugee camp, including four siblings from the Shloon family and a wounded person identified as Mahmoud Jamal Hamdan.
