The European Union called for an immediate investigation into the murder of 16-year-old Palestinian child Omar Awadin by Israeli occupation forces on Friday in Jenin, north of the West Bank.
In a tweet, the bloc called for a prompt and transparent investigation into the boy’s killing, affirming that children enjoy special protection under international law.
Awadin was murdered along with three other Palestinians in a brutal Israeli raid which took place in blatant daylight in one of the busiest streets of the Jenin city center, the Abu Bakr Street, the main thoroughfare in the city.
The three other Palestinians killed in cold blood during the Israeli raid are Nedal Khazem, 28, Saleh Shreim, 29, and Loay Zaghayer, a 37-year-old father of two. At least 23 others were injured, including four seriously.
The number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of the year has climbed to 89, including 17 children and an elderly woman, according to the figures of the Ministry of Health.
