Israeli bulldozers on Wednesday demolished two Palestinian apartments in the town of Jabal AlMukabber, in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Palestinian news agency WAFA said the homes were demolished under the pretext that they were built without a permit.

The two apartments cover an area of 220 square meters each and belong to brothers Feras and Ali Shuqeirat. The provide shelter to at least 10 people, mostly children.

Feras said that he had received a demolition notice from the Israeli authorities last February, and that all the attempts to prevent the demolition were unsuccessful.

A couple of months earlier, an Israeli court issued a decision to freeze the demolition decision until next September, but the two brothers were informed by the lawyer last week that the municipality had submitted a request to the court to cancel the freezing decision, and the court approved the demolition.
