Israel is increasingly compelling Palestinians in Jerusalem to demolish their own homes and property, warned the Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem and its Sanctuaries.
In a statement released on Sunday, the committee highlighted a significant surge in the number of Jerusalem residents forced to tear down their homes since the beginning of the year.
It noted that dozens of homes and facilities have been demolished either by Israeli authorities or by the homeowners themselves under the pretext of lacking building permits.
The committee emphasized that this tactic is often employed by the Israeli occupation to depopulate the city of Palestinians and alter the demographic balance in favor of Israelis.
The committee pointed out that the increase in home demolitions coincides with a rise in illegal settlement projects and the construction of thousands of colonial units in various neighborhoods of Jerusalem.
It warned of intensified efforts to "Judaise" the city, targeting its Islamic and Christian holy sites.
The committee urged the international community to break its silence and take effective, serious action to halt the genocidal war, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing inflicted upon the Palestinian people.
