North Korea has strongly condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to take over the Gaza Strip and relocate its more than two million Palestinian residents, calling it an act of “slaughter and robbery.”
In a statement published by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Pyongyang criticized Washington’s approach, labeling it a “hegemonic and invasive ambition” that violates national sovereignty and international law. The commentary warned that the world was witnessing an “outrageous rhetoric” that disregards Palestinian aspirations for peace and stability.
The plan, which Trump claims would transform Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” has been widely condemned, with critics calling it tantamount to ethnic cleansing.
North Korea also accused the U.S. of shielding Israel’s actions, saying Washington enables “inhuman atrocities” by supplying high-tech weaponry under the guise of Israel’s “right to self-defense.”
Trump’s proposal, which reportedly pressures Egypt and Jordan to absorb Gaza’s displaced population, has faced rejection from both nations. Human rights organizations and international actors, including Canada, France, Germany, and the UK, have also denounced the move as a major obstacle to a two-state solution.
While North Korea has historically had a fluctuating relationship with Trump, its latest remarks signal strong opposition to his policies in the Middle East.
