The number of Palestinians killed in Israel’s devastating war on Gaza since October 2023 has climbed to 48,365, the Health Ministry announced on Thursday.
In a statement, the ministry reported that 17 more bodies were pulled from the rubble over the past 24 hours, while 19 wounded people were taken to hospitals, pushing the total number of injuries to 111,780.
According to the ministry, many victims remain trapped beneath the debris and on the streets, with rescue teams unable to reach them.
Although a ceasefire agreement took effect on January 19, bringing a temporary halt to Israel’s large-scale military offensive, local authorities in Gaza continue to report near-daily violations by Israeli forces, undermining efforts to stabilize the war-ravaged enclave.
