The number of Palestinians killed in the ongoing Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip has risen to 50,609, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, as 86 more civilians were killed in the past 24 hours during a fresh wave of airstrikes.

In its latest update on Friday, the Ministry also reported that 287 people sustained injuries, raising the total number of wounded since October 2023 to 115,063.

Medical officials warn that the real figures could be significantly higher. Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them, the ministry said, citing the continuing bombardment and restricted access for emergency teams.

The latest strikes come after the Israeli army launched a sudden and intense aerial assault on March 18, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal that had been brokered with Hamas and had held since January.

That single offensive alone resulted in 1,249 deaths and over 3,000 injuries, adding to what humanitarian agencies are calling a catastrophic toll on Gaza’s population.

The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate as displacement surges and medical infrastructure collapses under the weight of thousands of casualties. Aid workers and local authorities say hospitals are overwhelmed, and that many families are sheltering in makeshift tents with limited access to food, water, or medical care.

Since the war began in October 2023, the scale of devastation has drawn widespread international condemnation and mounting calls for an immediate and lasting ceasefire. However, Israeli onslaughts have continued at full scale, with entire neighborhoods leveled and civilian casualties mounting daily.
