Marking Palestinian Prisoners’ Day, the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) has issued a press release condemning Israel’s mass detention of Palestinians, describing it as a system of collective punishment and psychological torture.

PRC warned that over 9,500 Palestinians—including children, women, and the elderly—are currently held in Israeli prisons, many without charge or trial under the widely criticised administrative detention system.

The press release highlighted alarming testimonies of torture, starvation, and inhuman detention conditions, particularly since the escalation of Israel’s assault on Gaza.

PRC called on the international community to take urgent action, including suspending military cooperation with Israel and holding its officials accountable for crimes against humanity.

PRC urged global civil society to stand in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners and demand an end to Israel’s brutal detention policies.
