Protesters took to the streets of Rome and Milan this week to denounce what they called Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, as anger continues to mount across Europe over the devastating toll of the Israeli offensive.

In Rome, a large crowd of pro-Palestine activists marched towards the Israeli embassy, raising Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as “Stop the Israeli terror,” “Stop the genocide,” and “We are all Palestinians.”

Demonstrators also declared their rejection of Zionism, calling Israel a “terrorist state.”

Similar scenes unfolded in Milan, where demonstrators gathered in the city’s central Piazza Duomo, waving Palestinian flags and repeating the rallying cry, “Free Gaza, Free Palestine.”

The protest was part of a growing wave of international mobilizations demanding an end to Israel’s months-long military campaign, which began in October 2023.

According to Gaza health authorities, the war has killed over 55,000 Palestinians, the vast majority of whom are women and children.
