The death toll in Gaza continues to climb at a staggering pace as Israel's genocidal war enters its ninth month, with nearly 65,700 people claimed killed and hundreds missing under rubble.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 56,647 Palestinians have been killed and 134,105 wounded since the start of the war, marking one of the most devastating tolls in recent history.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 40 more people were killed and dozens injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling across the besieged enclave.
Among the latest fatalities, 11 Palestinians were shot dead and more than 60 injured when Israeli forces opened fire on a crowd of aid-seekers along Salah Al-Din Street, near the Netzarim Corridor, a hotspot of repeated humanitarian tragedies.
In southern Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and several others injured when an Israeli strike hit a home in the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, an area previously designated as a "safe zone" for displaced residents.
Israeli warplanes also targeted tents sheltering displaced families, killing 13 civilians in yet another blow to those seeking refuge from the ongoing bombardment.
In central Khan Younis, Israeli shelling killed four more civilians, while three bodies were retrieved from beneath the rubble in eastern parts of the city, raising fears that more victims remain trapped.
