Relentless Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have now claimed the lives of at least 57,523 Palestinians since October 2023, according to a statement released Monday by Gaza’s Health Ministry.
The Ministry reported that 105 additional bodies were recovered in the past 24 hours alone, alongside 356 new injuries, raising the total number of wounded since the start of the offensive to 136,617.
Rescue teams continue to face immense difficulties, with many victims still buried beneath rubble or lying in inaccessible areas due to ongoing bombardments.
Despite a brief ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement implemented earlier this year, Israel resumed its military operations on March 18. Since then, 6,964 more Palestinians have been killed and 24,576 others injured, marking a sharp escalation in violence.
Health officials and humanitarian workers warn that the actual death toll is likely even higher, as hundreds of casualties remain unrecovered due to the extreme danger rescuers face in targeted zones.
