At least 12 Palestinians, including children, were killed and several others injured on Wednesday in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes targeting densely populated areas and displacement camps across the Gaza Strip.

Five civilians, three of them children, were killed when an Israeli missile struck a tent sheltering displaced families in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

A separate airstrike in the same camp targeted the al-Safa building, resulting in casulaties.

In southern Gaza, a number of Palestinians were killed and more wounded when an Israeli warplane bombed tents near the Attar gas station in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, a location packed with displaced families seeking refuge.

Another child, aged six, was reported killed following Israeli shelling near the Tiberias gas station in the same area.

Elsewhere, three more Palestinians were killed in the Sabra neighborhood, south of Gaza City, when an Israeli airstrike hit residential house, adding to the mounting toll in the devastated city.

These attacks are part of a larger, ongoing Israeli military campaign that has continued despite mounting international demands for an immediate ceasefire. Since late October 2023, Israel’s offensive has killed over 58,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, according to health authorities in Gaza.

In addition to the rising death toll, the months-long assault has reduced much of the enclave to rubble, crippled its healthcare system, and left its population facing acute hunger, displacement, and widespread disease. International aid agencies continue to warn of a looming famine and the collapse of basic services.

Despite repeated United Nations resolutions and global appeals, Israeli operations have expanded in recent weeks, targeting areas previously designated as "safe zones," including makeshift shelters and schools where thousands of displaced Palestinians have taken refuge.
