More than 25 Palestinians were killed early Thursday in a new wave of Israeli attacks targeting multiple areas across the besieged Gaza Strip, as Israel’s military campaign continues to exact a heavy toll on civilians.

Medical sources reported that at least 25 people lost their lives in separate strikes throughout the morning, with dozens more injured. The death toll later rose to over 25 as more casualties were confirmed.

In one of the deadliest incidents, Israeli artillery opened fire on civilians waiting for humanitarian aid near the Zikim area in northern Gaza, killing ten people and injuring many others. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as people desperately sought safety amid the bombardment.

In Gaza City, an Israeli drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced Palestinians, killing four people, including a woman. Two more civilians were killed when another tent was targeted in western Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Strip.

Israeli airstrikes also struck the central areas of Deir al-Balah and the Nuseirat refugee camp, leaving at least seven people dead. Further south, two people were killed and others wounded in an Israeli air raid on the Bureij refugee camp.

Since the war began in October 2023, Israeli forces have killed over 59,000 Palestinians in Gaza, the vast majority of whom are women and children. The sustained assault has left the enclave in ruins, destroyed most of its health infrastructure, and pushed the population to the brink of famine.
