At least 15 Palestinians, including children, were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes that struck multiple locations across the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to medical sources and eyewitnesses.

Among the dead were seven people, including three children, who were sheltering in a tent in the al-Mawasi area, west of Khan Younis.

The area had been designated by Israel as a "safe zone" for displaced families—many of whom had fled there in search of refuge from the ongoing military assault.

In another deadly incident, six Palestinians were killed when an Israeli missile struck a residential home in central Gaza City.

Several others were injured in the same strike, with hospitals struggling to accommodate the wounded amid severe shortages of medical supplies and staff.

The Israeli army also continued its demolition campaign in southern Gaza, using explosives to destroy residential homes and civilian infrastructure in and around Khan Younis. Entire neighborhoods have been flattened in recent days as military operations intensify.

Sunday’s attacks come as part of Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023. The relentless offensive has killed more than 59,600 Palestinians—most of them women and children—and forced over a million people from their homes. Vast swathes of the territory lie in ruins, with access to food, water, and basic healthcare rapidly deteriorating.
