At least 62,064 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, the Gaza Health Ministry reported on Tuesday.
According to a statement by the Health Ministry, the ongoing genocidal war has left 156,573 Palestinians injured during the same period.
In the past 24 hours alone, 60 people were killed and 343 wounded in Israeli airstrikes and shelling.
The toll also includes the rising number of famine-related deaths, now standing at 266, among them 112 children.
The Health Ministry further reported that 31 Palestinians were killed and 197 injured on Monday as Israeli forces targeted crowds of civilians waiting for humanitarian aid.
Since May 27, 1,996 people have been killed and 14,898 injured while attempting to secure desperately needed food and supplies in aid convoys and distribution points.
The escalating crisis is compounded by Israel’s comprehensive blockade of Gaza, which has restricted the entry of food, medicine, fuel, and essential goods.
Human rights organizations say the blockade, in place for nearly 18 years and tightened since October 2023, has devastated civilian life, creating conditions of widespread hunger, collapsing health care, and a spiraling humanitarian disaster.
