Nine Palestinians, among them displaced persons sheltering in tents, were killed on Sunday morning, as Israeli forces carried out a series of airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, according to medical officials and eyewitnesses.

In Gaza City, three people lost their lives and several others were injured when Israeli warplanes struck makeshift tents housing families who had been forced out of their homes. The attack took place in the al-Maqousi area, northwest of the city.

Elsewhere in Gaza, two brothers were killed after their family home was targeted in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.

Residents in Zeitoun, in southeastern Gaza City, reported that Israeli troops detonated four booby-trapped robots, destroying several homes in the densely populated district.

In central Gaza, two Palestinians were killed and others wounded following a strike on southern Deir al-Balah.

At least two more casualties were reported in scattered morning attacks across the besieged enclave.

The escalation comes amid intensified bombardment that has forced thousands of residents to flee from northeastern Gaza City toward western areas. On Friday, the Israeli military declared Gaza City — home to roughly one million people before the war — a “dangerous combat zone,” prompting a mass wave of displacement under fire.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign has killed nearly 63,400 Palestinians, according to Gaza health authorities. Entire neighborhoods lie in ruins, hospitals struggle to function, and aid agencies warn that famine looms over the enclave’s population.
