Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip early Tuesday left nearly 40 Palestinians dead, including people waiting for aid, according to local sources.
In Gaza City, heavy bombardment struck multiple neighborhoods. Thirteen people were killed when a residential building in Tel Hawa was leveled.
At least 10 people died in separate strikes on homes in Sheikh Redwan. Four more victims were reported at an aid distribution point in the same area.
In Jabalia, in northern Gaza, Israeli drones fired on a group of civilians, killing five and wounding others.
Further south, five people were shot dead in Khan Younis as they waited in line for desperately needed humanitarian assistance, health workers said.
The attacks come as food shortages deepen and crowds gather daily around aid trucks across the enclave.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign has killed nearly 63,400 Palestinians, according to Gaza health authorities. Entire neighborhoods lie in ruins, hospitals struggle to function, and aid agencies warn that famine looms over the enclave’s population.
