10th Palestinians in Europe Conference sponsored by Tunisian President

Preparations are underway for the launch of the 10th Palestinians in Europe Conference organized by the General Secretariat of the Palestinians in Europe Conference, The Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) and the Palestinian Forum in Denmark.
The annual event is due to take place on Saturday, 28th, April 2012 in Denmark, Copenhagen. The conference is titled “Our Spring blossoms our Return” . PRC General Director, Majed al Zeer, revealed that the conference will be organized under the auspices of the Tunisian President, Mohammed Monsif al Marzouqi. According to Mr Alzeer, this year’s conference will reflect on the Arab Spring and its impact on the Palestinian cause. A number of Palestinian, Arab and International renowned figures will take part at the one-day event. It’s also an opportunity to discuss the Future of the Right of Return during seismic shifts in the Middle East. Clare Short, former British Minster and MP as well as Palestinian Parliamentarian and Head of Popular Committee Against the Siege on Gaza, Jamal Al Kohdary, in addition to Palestinian historian, Salman Abu Sitta, Chair of the land foundation, will participate at the event. Dr. Safwat Hijazi, General Secretary of Egypt’s Youth Revolution Council, Journalist Faraj Shalhoob from Palestinian Refugee Camps in Jordan, Dr. Muhammad Yasir Amro, Chair of Academy of Palestinian Refugee Studies, Yasir Qadoora, Head of Palestinian National Project to keep the Identity and Dr. Abd al Jabar Saeed, chair of Palestinian scholars abroad will all take part and speak at the event.Dozens of other activities will also take place such as political, social and organizational workshops. Many folklore and Youth sessions will be also be organized. During the previous nine years the conference was held in various European cities like London 2003, Berlin 2004, Vienna 2005, Malmo 2006, Rotterdam 2007, Copenhagen 2008, Milan 2009, Berlin 2010 and Wuppertal, Germany 2011. Thousands of Palestinians from all across Europe and around the world are expected to take part. A statement is expected to be issued at the conclusion on behalf of the Palestinians in Europe regarding their position towards different issues and reinstate their unflinching resolve for the right of return.
