Parliamentarians to investigate conditions of Palestinian refugees escaping from Syria to Lebanon

A delegation of European and British parliamentarians is due to arrive in Lebanon on Friday, 1st Feb. 2013.   They will investigate into the conditions of Palestinian refugees who escaped the crisis in Syria to Lebanon.


The delegation is organized by the Palestinian Return Centre (PRC), The Council for European Palestinian Relations and in partnership with Thabit organization for Right of Return and the Action Group for Palestinians of Syria.

The visit, lasting 4 days, includes a number of meetings with the Lebanese president, Michel Suleiman and Lebanese foreign minister Adnan Mansour. Delegates will also meet UNRWA and civil society organization representatives.

They will also visit refugee camps to view their living conditions in addition to discussing their legal status.

Other meetings will take place with representatives of Palestinian factions and refugees.

The delegates are expected to issue a report based on their visit and official meetings with the different parties in the country.
