In New York City, 18-22 July 2016, the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) high-level segment will be held on the theme 'Implementing the post-2015 development agenda: moving from commitments to results'. The segment will include the three-day ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF), convened under the auspices of the Council, and the biennial Development Cooperation Forum (DCF).  

The 2016 High-level segment of ECOSOC will be chaired by Ambassador Oh Joon, President of ECOSOC. It represents the culmination of ECOSOC’s 2016 cycle, and addresses the Council’s overall annual theme. The 2016 High-level segment consists of several key features meant to advance coordination, dialogue and follow-up and review on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in line with the relevant mandates of the United Nations.
