PRC Takes Part in UNHRC Special Session over Latest Developments in Occupied Palestinian Territories

London, Geneva, 18 May 2018

The Palestinian Return Center (PRC) has been engaged in the emergency session held by the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to discuss the recent escalation by the Israeli occupation forces across the Palestinian territories and the violence committed against peaceful protesters on the Gaza border.

PRC is expected to deliver a speech before the UNHRC Member-States and hold a series of meetings with states’ speakers and diplomats.

PRC’s Media Department chief, Mr. Ahmad Hosain, and the Executive Director, Mr. Tarek Hamoud, have been in attendance.

The UNHRC session has been convened in response to the vicious aggression by the Israeli military against the unarmed Palestinians during the Great March of Return protests. 60 Palestinians were killed on Monday and over 3,000 others have been left wounded, among them children and women.

UNHRC is expected to vote on a Pakistani resolution demanding a probe into Israel’s excessive use of force on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Recently, PRC has embarked on a large-scale correspondence campaign to expose to the British and international political community the Israeli human rights violations against the Great March of Return demonstrators. PRC sent letters to 42 member-states of the Human Rights Council, as well as to more than 600 British MPs.
