The Palestinian Return Centre Commemorates the 51st Anniversary of Bloody Sunday in Derry

 The Palestinian Return Centre took part in the 51st anniversary of Bloody Sunday commemorations in Derry, Ireland from the official annual address to the annual march from the Creggan to the Free Derry Corner.

 This years annual commemoration, commemorating it’s 51st anniversary, began with an official address on Bloody Sunday in Derry’s Guildhall on Friday 27th January, with this years annual address being led by the president of Sinn Fein, Mary Lou McDonald. McDonald spoke passionately on the urgency for justice half a century on, and called on the British government to hold the soldiers responsible, from Bloody Sunday to Ballymurphy to Springhill.

 The annual theme of this years Bloody Sunday commemoration was “an injustice to one is an injustice to all”, and expressed solidarity with causes from Palestine to Hillsborough.

 Thousands of people attended the annual Bloody Sunday March on Sunday 29th January. The Palestinian Return Centre led a minutes silence at the Free Derry Corner before the annual Bloody Sunday March began, a minutes silence in memory of the victims of the recent massacre in Jenin, where Israeli soldiers invaded a refugee camp in Jenin and murdered 10 I’m unarmed Palestinians.
