PRC Circulates Briefing on Israeli Army’s Use of Police Dogs Against Palestinians to UN Envoys and Diplomatic Missions

The Palestinian Return Centre Ltd (PRC) has passed around a briefing to UN envoys and diplomatic missions, highlighting the Israeli army’s use of police dogs against Palestinian civilians and detainees.

This practice has drawn significant criticism from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) spokesperson, Jeremy Laurence.

The briefing details how Israeli occupation forces have been deploying police dogs to attack, intimidate, and even sexually assault Palestinians during military operations in the Gaza Strip.

PRC referred to a harrowing testimony from Dawlat Al-Tanani, a 60-year-old woman from the Jabalia refugee camp, who described being viciously attacked by an Israeli army dog during a home raid on May 14.

PRC urged the international community to take immediate action to end this brutal practice, emphasizing its devastating impact on the Palestinian population.

PRC, an independent academic and media consultancy based in the UK since 1996, specializes in Palestinian refugees issues and has consultative status with the UN's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 2015.
