PRC Testifies Under Item 7 at UNHRC on Horrifying Atrocities in Gaza

Geneva — The Palestinian Return Centre (PRC) delivered a statement during the 58th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, under Item 7, which addresses the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem.

In its intervention, PRC drew attention to the continued and intensifying Israeli military assault on Gaza. The organisation described the attack as a brutal and unjustified violation of the ceasefire agreement, warning that it marks yet another escalation in a pattern of genocidal violence against the Palestinian people.

PRC condemned the soaring civilian death toll and the systematic targeting of vulnerable populations, particularly children. It further criticised the establishment of a new Israeli agency dedicated to facilitating what has been termed the “voluntary departure” of Gazans.

“This policy,” PRC stated, “is a blatant attempt to forcibly displace the population under the guise of consent. It represents a continuation of Israel’s longstanding efforts to ethnically cleanse Gaza.”

Addressing the Council, PRC called for urgent and concrete accountability measures—not only through international mechanisms, but also within national jurisdictions. “Justice must be pursued against those responsible for the ongoing atrocities. The international community can no longer remain passive in the face of such grave violations,” the organisation concluded.

This intervention forms part of PRC’s participation in the 58th session of the UNHRC, currently underway in Geneva. The session includes a dedicated focus on the situation in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, where horrifying atrocities continue following Israel’s breach of the ceasefire agreement and its blatant disregard for international diplomatic efforts—acting with alarming impunity.
