PRC Conference in The Independent; Memorial Week starts Saturday
The ongoing Nakba Conference and the memorial Week were advertised thuersday morning on the independent.
The ad occupied half page on world section page 26. It has featured the agony and pain that Palestinians have encountered for the past 62 years. It also focused on the Palestinian issue in terms of that Nakba, showing it’s still ongoing. PRC International Conference, “Ongoing Nakba” is expected to take place this upcoming Saturday, 15.Jan.2011. It will last for an entire day from 9am-6pm at SOAS, Bruni Gallary. Around 19 academics, researchers, MPs, politicians and journalists will speak on the event. The Conference will be an inaugural key event which will be followed by dozens of workshops, galleries and film screening across the UK.  The memorial week will witness launching a set of media packages prepared by PRC like Photo Galleries and other awareness materials. MMU and University of Manchester students will organize a workshop where Palestinian Professor Salman Abu Sita will speak. It’s expected according to organizing student unions that more than 200 students and staff will participate. On Friday  21.Jan 2011, students in London University comprised of University College of London Friends of Palestine, Queens Marry Palestine Society, Kings College Action Palestine, Goldsmith Student Union and SOAS Palestine Society they will all organize a vigil for Gaza. The event will take place at UCL front quad, Gower street, London WC1E 6bt. The event will take place at 5pm. Within the Memorial Week, Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) is organizing a key Rally in central London. The event is titled “Remembering Israel’s war on Gaza” it will take place. It will be held on Tuesday 18 January 2011, 7pm, Conway Hall, Holborn, London. Memorial Week will be organized also by Mediterranean Resources Network, Reading Palestine Solidarity Campaign, Goldsmith Palestine Society, Queens Marry University, and Justice for Palestine Exeter Palestine Society, Palestine Solidarity Campaign, and Communist Party of Britain (greater London east branch), Bristol Palestine Solidarity and Gaza Bristol Link.
